S:2 Episode:32
This episode continues the mini series on How to Engineer a Paradigm Shift in North America. There must be a shift away from Attractional to Missional, away from Consumer to Contributor, away from Transactional to Transformational. We discuss some practical ways we see this paradigm shift take place and open the dialogue to begin the conversation in our personal lives and in the life of our churches.
S:2 Episode:31
We continue discussing How to Engineer a Paradigm Shift in North America. This episode opens a download on Clergy vs Laity...an age old issue in the church. We are calling this issue Professional and Amateur as we discuss the need to move from the clergy (professionals) doing the work and trying to fulfill the Great Commission to the laity (amateurs) getting in the game and leading the way. We think this is a spiritual issue for the church in North America.
S:2 Episode:30
In this episode we discuss the connection between the gospel of salvation to knowledge and the gospel of the kingdom to obedience. We have to see things to name them, and we have to say things to see them. In order for the paradigm shift to happen in North America we must learn to emphasize the gospel of the kingdom and thus obedience so that we can see and speak about disciple making in terms which are aligned with the scriptural teachings.
S:2 Episode:29
We continue to discuss paradigm shifts which are important if we are to move from legacy models in the western church to movement models. In this episode we open a conversation on shifting from the gospel of salvation to the gospel of the Kingdom. The gospel of the Kingdom focuses on the reality that Jesus is King, that God rules, and that life is not just about getting saved but we are to enter into the reality that Jesus gets to oversee everything in our lives.
S:2 Episode:28
We will try sharing paradigm shifts that we think must happen for a local church or western Christian to shift towards DMM. We tend to place emphasis in our discipleship in our churches in a different place than Disciple Making Movements do. In this episode we look at knowledge based discipleship and obedience based discipleship.
S:2 Episode:27
In this episode Jeff shares three reasons why anyone should care about DMM in North America. Keeping the main thing the main thing, we will face judgement, and the world is looking for answers to life's biggest questions. We discuss the role of authenticity in disciple making and how authenticity begins with understanding.
S:2 Episode:26
In this episode we briefly discuss and clarify what is the barn using the Haggai 2 scripture. We also discuss a potential reason why the seed is still in the barn and how the focus of spiritual formation might be stopping the spreading of the seed into the fields to reap a harvest in due time.
S:2 Episode:25
In this episode we take a brief look at Haggai 2:19 asking the same question...is the seed still in the barn? Until then the plants had not produced their harvest, but God was promising a blessing and changes were coming. Can the same be true for North America?
S:2 Episode:24
In this episode we continue discussing the habit of multiply. If the gospel is going to spread rapidly and virally it can’t keep coming back to us. In professional ministry for 40 years, inadvertently Jeff had an addition mentality meaning that most things came back to him, but in movement we have a multiplication mentality which means that everything needs to go without us from us into other settings.
S:2 Episode:23
In this episode we discuss the last habit in our Habits Training course, Multiply. We spend some time talking about multiplication rather than addition in disciple making. We also look to the natural world of gardening to learn some spiritual lessons. We are all life long learners on this podcast and learning specifically what it means to multiply our lives as Christ followers. This download is part 1 covering the habit of multiply.

S:2 Episode:21
In this episode we download thoughts on going back as far back as possible to look at the function of the church. We spend a little time talking about the Trinity as a picture of the church. The church existing for itself (inward), the church existing for mission (outward), and the church existing in power (upwards). We spend time wrestling with the purpose of the church.
S:2 Episode:20
In this episode we download thoughts on some paradigm shifts that have happened for us as we've leaned into the Habit of Assemble. We are wrestling on what God has in mind when he instituted the church in light of our western context. We are leaning into expressions of church for the sake of the mission.
S:2 Episode:19
In this episode we download thoughts on what it means to be a church. Why would a discovery Bible study become a church? What does it mean to assemble together? In DMM Assemblies (churches) are focused on the lost or engaging the lost rather than organizing around buildings, internal ministries, or the structures of the Western church.
S:2 Episode:18
In this episode we share the Nuts and Bolts of Discovery Bible Studies. There are at least four primary questions every discovery group uses to facilitate discussion and obedience to the reading of the scriptures.
S:2 Episode:17
In this episode we discuss the WHY of Discovery. Why is Discovery the engine for movement? Because EVERYONE can do it! Disciple Making Movements are Ordinary people in Natural networks. Everyone can participate. Everyone can take action. Everyone can be involved in disciple making.
S:2 Episode:16
In this episode we share a few examples of how we became persons of peace, an example of friends here in Northern Colorado who became persons of peace, and how seeking and saving the lost is what Jesus came to do. The habit of Find is about finding a person of peace.

S:2 Episode:14
This episode introduces the habit of Find. What or who are we to find? We talk about the principle of a Person of Peace and how to know if we have found that person.
S:2 Episode:13
This episode continues to unpack the Habit of Engage focusing more on how to engage the people we love. We ask the question, "Whose job is it to engage?" We also give practical next steps for anyone who wants to take a step towards building this habit.
We’re on a mission to Multiply Disciple Makers in Northern Colorado and see disciple making movements transform our communities.
This Podcast will help us by bringing the latest updates and lessons from the Global South and National DMM Leaders to us through our friend, DMM practitioner, and co-host Jeff Crabtree.
Jeff has been leaning into the Movement world since 2017 and has learned a lot about disciple making movements over this time. He and his wife, Kathy, live in Timnath Colorado and are leading practitioners of DMM Habits and principles in Northern Colorado.
Jeff has been a local church pastor for over 40 years and has sensed a call from the Lord to lean into DMM. His passion and experience are a great combination and blessing to DMM NOCO so we convinced him to start this podcast.
The primary emphasis is for Jeff to download what has been taught to him and what he has learned. Please get in touch with us for follow up as we pray together to see disciple making movements transform Northern Colorado to the glory of God and to the good of all people!
